the ghosts are gone

one by one

nothing has left to get drunk with

no memories

no after taste

no hallow reflections in broken mirrors

the ghosts have gone to assemble

where they would be safe

of mortals’ hopes and wishes

and the torture of drinking their bitter tears and hearing their wounded sighs

there is not much else left to do

but to fall into this deafening silence

this abyss of gooey light

and to wait.
